Greetings, Barrett Families!
R.E.A.D. Books is delighted to be your book fair vendor this year!
R.E.A.D. Books is the online/pop-up boutique children's bookstore of the new-ish Arlington nonprofit Read Early And Daily (R.E.A.D.), founded by former Barrett parent Jennifer Sauter-Price (aka, Pajama Mama). R.E.A.D.'s mission is to ignite curiosity, wonder and understanding in the youngest of children by ensuring they have new, quality, culturally relevant books that mirror their everyday lives and communities. The cool and unique way R.E.A.D. Books operates is that all the revenue earned from book sales goes back into programming to get new, quality, culutrally relevant books into the hands of vulnerable young children living in Arlington.
So, when you buy a book at the book fair next week, 20% of the sales will return to Barrett PTA and the remaining revenue will be used to purchase new books for young children who need them the most.
Our selection of titles is smaller but carefully curated. R.E.A.D. Books offers the "best of the best" among the newest titles of children's books. Each title is carefully chosen by our team of R.E.A.D. Curators, who look for:
cultural understanding,
diversity and inclusion,
fresh perspectives,
compelling stories,
engaging illustrations,
enduring readability,
a sense of curiosity and wonder, PLUS
lots of opportunities to laugh.
