It's the last day to donate to the Read A Thon. There is no auction this year so this major fundraiser is meant to replenish funds used this year in the PTA account, so if you haven't donated yet, this is our final plea! 🙏 Or if you have donated already, consider making an additional donation on behalf of a family that might not be able to. If you haven't set up a webpage already, you can always donate through Barrett's Read A Thon page at https://www.read-a-thon.com/school/KW-Barrett-PTA_23399 (The total on this page doesn't reflect the 25% Read A Thon keeps for itself.). In case this matters, all donations made to the Barrett's Read A Thon page will not count towards a child's classroom fundraising totals. You can also send in cash or check (make it out to Barrett PTA) to my attention.
Has your child gone on a field trip 🚌 this year? Have you/your family gone to the Ice Cream🍦social, Family Fitness 🏋️♂️🏃♀️ Night, or any other PTA sponsored family event? Then thank the PTA, its volunteers and its bank account for funding part or all of these activities! PTA funds are also used for:
- STEAM Night (coming up next Thursday March 21st)
- Small stipends/grants for afterschool activities (🧶 Knitting club is one)
- 🎓 the 5th grade promotion ceremony
- Author visits 📖
- Taking care of the veggie and courtyard gardens
- 🎭 The Spring musical & the Arts program
- Teacher Luncheon Meals
- Teacher Grants for classroom supplies & materials
- Teacher Appreciation gifts and lunch
- Walk & Bike to School supplies
- Friday Volunteer supplies
- National PTA dues
- & more
