Hello Barrett Family!
We know many of you are already helping out and supporting Barrett in lots of different ways. Thank you!! Our school wouldn't be the same without you! We know too that many of you would LOVE the opportunity to get involved and are just looking for the chance and the "right fit." Good news!! We have a number of opportunities available and are excited to have more people jump in and join the fun!
We have some real immediate needs - like someone to coordinate the Reflections contest this fall (as in...now! please!) - and some needs throughout the year. One of the reasons we have such a great school with so many great activities is the support and involvement of our families. Let's keep it going!
Not sure what to do? Anything that interests you!
Don't know how to do it? No worries! There are plenty of people here to help. Never hesitate to ask questions, seek help, or just figure it out, if you'd rather. We've all been there!
Want something short-term that doesn't take up too much of your time...or perhaps something more long-term? No problem! We have a variety of opportunities.
Ready to help but not sure which opportunity to say "YES" to right away? That's okay...just don't delay! We can help you with that.
New to Barrett and don't yet know people or what's what? This is a great way to get to know Barrett families and teachers and to get to know the school better too!

* Arlington Forester Submission (short summary of current happenings once monthly)

* Fifth Grade Promotion (later spring)
* Student/Staff Basketball Game (later spring)
* EduKit Supplies
* Auction (Yes! This fun-filled event is coming again this spring! Keep your eyes open for more information soon.)
Reflections Contest: This is a low-key creative art contest that is held annually. This year's theme is "Look Within." Winning submissions are due to the Arlington Council of PTAs on November 21, so the contest needs to get underway by early October. Time to get going! There are promotional materials and other guidance available to assist in the process. I have assurance from a great source that this is not a time-intensive activity. :)
Interested: Please let me know if you're interested in helping with one (or more!) of these opportunities. We'll also send out emails occasionally during the year as more opportunities come up. If we don't have folks willing to lead and help out with these activities, it's likely we will not be able to continue the activities.
