[KWPTA] PTA MEETING w/TANNIA TALENTO: Tuesday, June 2 (and other updates)

Our next PTA meeting will be on Tuesday, June 2, at 7:30 p.m. (30 minutes later than previously scheduled). We will be joined by APS School Board Chair Tannia Talento at 8:15 p.m. to discuss a wide variety of topics, including APS food distribution plans for the summer, school plans for summer/fall, school boundary process, and other topics that may be of interest to you.

Please join us for the meeting. As this will most likely be a Q&A session with Ms. Talento, if you'd like to submit a question, please send it to kwbarrettpta@gmail.com prior to the meeting, or if you prefer, you can type up your questions using the Zoom chat feature during the meeting. 

Prior to Ms. Talento joining the meeting, we will cover PTA business, including approving (if there is only one candidate interested for each vacant position) incoming PTA officers for next school year, approving a PTA "Food Pantry" budget item so that we can accept and utilize PTA funds for food/grocery items to help Barrett families, and discussing APS school boundary process. A formal agenda will be sent out prior to the meeting next Tuesday.

1) Please email us at kwbarettpta@gmail.com if you'd like to be considered for any of our PTA vacancies next year (VP of Community Relations; VP for Outreach & Communications; and Secretary);

2) The next grocery gift card distribution for Barrett families will be on Wednesday, June 10 at 4:00 p.m. Additional information will be sent out next week.

3) Please respond to the APS survey (available at https://survey.k12insight.com/survey.aspx?k=RQsSRTVsQRXVsPsPsP&lang=0&data=) by June 5 on their data review of Planning Units, which will help APS ensure that the final data reflects accurate data as part of their review in adjusting boundaries across neighborhood elementary schools this fall.
