Yesterday afternoon, we distributed to Barrett families 211 $50 grocery gift cards, along with dental kits and books for all grade levels from Pre-K to 5th grade. We will also be sending several gift cards to families who were not able to make the distribution yesterday.
-- Thank you to the many families in our community who have continued to donate to our efforts. Through three rounds of distribution, we have provided $30,200 in gift cards to Barrett families.
In addition to the many Barrett families and teachers who have donated financially to our effort, I wanted to also thank the following individuals:
- Ms. Elizabeth Rente Sullivan, who provided us with $4500 worth of gift cards through a separate fundraiser she organized
- Ms. Jennifer Sauter-Price and her R.E.A.D. organization for providing hundreds of books (again) of all grade levels from Pre-K to 5th grade
- Dr. Steve Lan of Loudoun Pediatric Dentistry for providing several hundred dental kits
- Ms. Deborah Waldron and Mr. Aaron Schuetz, who led the GoFundMe "One Pantry at a Time" fundraising effort and provided us with another batch of 40 $50 gift cards (in total they provided us with $10,750 worth of gift cards for our three rounds of distribution)
We will send out a more detailed accounting in the next few days to provide everyone with information on exactly how much we've distributed, what we've raised, and what we have left available to continue to help our community.
