Reminder that our next PTA meeting is next Tuesday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. We will have Ms. Nicole McGarry, a Licensed Professional Counselor with McClean Psychotherapy, as our special guest to discuss mental health issues. Ms. McGarry specializes in early childhood development, attachment issues and adoption, adolescent development, behavioral challenges, mind/body integration work, women's issues, and trauma. She also has extensive experience treating children and adults struggling with, anxiety, depression, ADHD, divorce, sexual abuse, and parenting and relational issues. Link to her full bio is below.
-- Ms. McGarry will lead a presentation and discussion on mental health issues, particularly as it relates to children and families struggling through the pandemic. She will discuss signs to look for and when to seek professional help. She will also provide advice on developing resiliency for our children and guidance on addressing self-care for parents. Ms. McGarry will also answer general and specific questions.

Nicole McGarry is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and Clinical Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has over 10 years experience helping children and families. Nicole provides individual and group psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in early childhood development, attachment issues and adoption, adolescent development, behavioral challenges, mind/body integration work, women's issues, and trauma. She also has extensive experience treating children and adults struggling with, anxiety, depression, ADHD, divorce, sexual abuse, and parenting and relational issues.
Nicole's psychotherapy practice is designed to support young clients with healthy emotional, behavioral, and social development. She works with parents and families to facilitate positive communication, effective discipline, and to strengthen family bonds. Nicole also works collaboratively with schools and other professionals to assure positive treatment outcomes. She utilizes a variety of treatment approaches to help clients reach their goals, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, sensorimotor integration, and play and expressive therapies.
