[KWPTA] FY 2022 APS Proposed Budget

At last night's APS School Board meeting, the board unanimously adopted its FY 2022 Proposed Budget. Based on the list of proposed reductions as part of the meeting presentation (see pages 7-10 "Attachment A - Proposed Reductions" of the presentation), it does not look like the proposed cuts to Exemplary Projects were included in the adopted proposed budget. As you know, we have raised concerns with the proposal because it would adversely impact Barrett and our Exemplary Projects: Project Discovery and Project Interaction.

Our work continues to ensure that APS does not consider these cuts to Exemplary Projects - this year or any time in the future (as they have proposed several times already in past proposed budgets). Please note that despite receiving additional funding from state and local revenue, as well as $18.85 million from the American Rescue Plan Funds, APS is still expecting a shortfall of $14.9 million.

There will be a Public Hearing on the School Board's Proposed Budget on April 29. The School Board is scheduled to adopt the FY22 budget on May 6. Please consider:
Thank you to everyone for your continued support and help with this effort.
