As a follow-up to the Barrett Town Hall that Principal Sohr hosted on July 20 - and with Back to School only a month away - we wanted to share the website APS has available, if you have not already seen, on their Return to School Planning:
-- Specifically, their Reopening FAQs provide many helpful responses to many of the questions that many of us have on their reopening plans. The FAQs are updated regularly:
There are many questions and concerns that are addressed, including:
- Will APS provide childcare for families who need it?
- How will APS provide meals to students when the school year begins with virtual learning?
- What will happen with Extended Day staff in the coming school year?
- Can schools assign students based on pods that families have created?
- How does the Full-Time Distance Learning model differ from the distance learning students received in the fourth quarter of the 2019-20 school year?
- What were the responses from families to the survey about selecting an instructional delivery method?
- How does APS plan to provide special education services with distance learning at the start of the school year?
- How will instruction be delivered at the start of the school year in the full-distance model for students who are English Learners?
- What devices will APS provide to students, and how can students get the devices they need for the 2020-21 school year?
